The sections below were removed till we find a useful place for them. I think the UI has to be self-explanatory for beginners, they will not read instructions. ~Mike-ZeleaComtalk 03:21, 4 June 2011 (EDT)
Create position pages
- To express your position in a poll and to collect votes for it, go to the poll page and press
My Position
. - There you press
create
. - Now fill in your text just above
Category:Position
. Maybe you want to copy from another position in this poll and make your changes to it. - To complete it, write a short description of your position behind "position description=" at the top.
- Save the page.
Create your 'User' page
- Click at your username at the top of the screen.
- Create and submit the page even without adding any content. This allows the Pollwiki to do some magic stuff, placing your polls on your userpage automatically.
Create a new poll
- Create a new wiki page by simply adding
/p/xyz
to the url of the area page the poll belongs in.xyz
stand for a few letters as an identifier for the poll. Take only 2-5 charekters for shorter url's. You can still properly name it later.- Example: url of an area page: http://reluk.ca/w/G
- Example: url of a poll page in this area: http://reluk.ca/w/G/p/frvp
- Copy the content of another poll page in this area, paste it into yours and make the necesarry modifications.
Create a separate area for your city, country or organization
- Create a new wiki page by simply changing the last letter(s) of the url of an already existing area. For example replace the
G
in the url of the global area page: http://reluk.ca/w/G with 1-3 charakters as an identifier for your desired area. Keep the url short. - Copy the content of another area page and paste it into yours and make the necesarry modifications.
