06:00 < conseo> i think the practice is important, soon we can find out. still i think we should focus on a problem and only alter it if we know some reasons why the previous attempt failed, we should not try all practices at once, probably only few are practical (while others would be covered by them, e.g.)

18:15 < mcallan> yes, test practice (hypothesis) to destruction, and try to understand why it failed in each case.  keep lab notes, ensuring max gain for pain.  publish these notes as a kind of "up your's" gesture to fate ;^)
18:28 < mcallan> i guess my worry is to avoid becoming a casualty of the experiment.  projects offer themselves to what they see as a "market place", because that's the dominant paradigm.  but that's a category error, because it's not "market" time.  in truth, they only offer themselves as lab rats for an experiment.  this is what i want to avoid.  to avoid it, we need to become the experimenters ourselves
