07:32 < conseo> mcallan: if you like clojure, you might love this. see also the bio of this guy, pretty interesting how the traditional cooperations fail to attract productive personell... http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ibdknox/light-table?ref=category
07:33 < conseo> we might also think about raising some money for development in a similar way once the mini-beta is finished and we show something usable off... it will both promote our project and give us more possibilities in developping. i don't know how to do it right, but it has enormous potential...
07:35 < conseo> yes c) is most flexible, but i have no clue how to communicate over different processes. any hints? i will do it if it is reasonable
07:35 < conseo> also the harvesters are pretty much self-contained (they don't expose state, but only receive kicks)
07:36 < conseo> Kicker and HarvestCache have to be accessible cross-vm
07:37 < conseo> (well i can do the recherche for inter-process communication myself, i am just asking if you already have something in mind)
08:25 < mcallan> conseo: re (c) at first blush, the main thing the harvesters need to share is marker state. storing markers in files, or in the database, would do the trick
08:30 < mcallan> if you go with (c), then the harvesters must be very lightweight when they are not running. and startup of the harvester facility must be lazy; they can't eagerly start in every vm that votorola launces, ofc
08:31 < mcallan> (launches)
09:54 < conseo> ok, i'll think about it
10:06 < mcallan> ok, i'm off. cu soon
