06:11 < conseo> serapath: if you had a real mail service, you could send with any sender. have a look at your isps smtp server config.
06:13 < conseo> mcallan: ok, if i parse the JSON from the db directly, i won't use the Biters, right?
06:16 < conseo> or should i use the BiteJigs? this defeats your garbage collector argument, or have i misunderstood you?
08:07 < serapath> conseo: i thought i have a real mail service. I use google mail - what should i do with the config?
08:40 < mcallan> conseo: i had forgotten about the jigs. best to keep them, if they aren't a big problem. they use json writer. that probably means no json in db, but instead a separate column for every datum type (otherwise you gotta parse it uselessly before sending it)
08:42 < mcallan> (alternative of running the biters *prior* to storing in the cache won't work, because they'll write stale data)
08:42 < mcallan> (or rather, data that will soon *become* stale)
08:46 < mcallan> maybe the jigs and biters won't be needed in future, but we don't know yet. i need to code a track or two, before i understand what's all involved
14:36 < mcallan> thomasvonderelbe: ping
