15:36 < mcallan> i wouldn't send diff url, but DiffKey only (a tight interface sends *minimal* information)
15:41 < mcallan> so asssuming pipermail harvester is listening for "pipermail" kicks, and irc harvester for "irc" kicks, then regardless of how many different media the candidate's group is talking in, usually the kick will prompt a poll of a single archive (either the pipermail, or the irc, or whatever else)

18:08 < mcallan> conseo: i don't know what "channel" or "directory" means.  very unlikely the candidate will talk to his voters in 5 different mailing lists.  you are maybe thinking of multiple polls, the mailing list(s) is specified in the *postion*
18:14 < mcallan> so pipermail harvester gets kick for a diffkey, looks at candidate postion and schedules an update for all pipermail forums specified by the candidate (rarely more than one)
