Comparative chromography of gene sequences.

This tool reveals genetic similarities among documents by comparative chromography. It vari-tints a region of text in an even, chromatic gradient according to its underlying sequence of leaf genes. Then it vari-tints the corresponding text of other documents, across the desktop, according to the same gradient. Similarities and differences show up as similarities and differences of in the gradient, detectable at a glance.

Chromography was first used in the EDGE project (2001). Here, the implementation (as coded thus far) is user-applet based; it works among Web pages in multiple browser windows.
