===Assigning a minder===

You must already have created an account for the [[:Category:Impersonal user|impersonal user]].  To assign a minder to that account:

===Changing an assignment===

The first steps are for the old minder:

            Ensure you are logged in as the impersonal user, not as yourself.

            In the impersonal user [[Special:Preferences|preferences]], enter the <span class='unserved'>new email address</span> as translated from the new minder's mailish username.<ref name='mailishTranslation'/>
            </p>
        <p>
            An authentication challenge is sent to the new minder.
            </p>
        </li>
    </ol>

The remaining steps are for the new minder:

            Authenticate your email address by replying to the challenge from the wiki.

            Visit [[Special:PasswordReset]].  Enter the impersonal username from the challenge message (e.g. {{int:Vo-pipePrefix}}{{#var:idH}}{{int:Vo-pipeSuffix}}) and press the button.
            </p>

            A temporary password is sent to you.<ref>http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Resetting_passwords</ref>
            </p>

            Use the temporary password to login as the impersonal user.
            </p>
        <p>
            The login page prompts you to choose a new, permanent password.
            </p>

In the event the old minder does not cooperate, the new minder may instead force the change.  These instructions are for the new minder:

            Advise the immediate voters of the old impersonal user to shift their votes to the new impersonal user.

===Testing an assignment===
